OBJECTIVE

The exhibition reflects on the fragile dreams and reality. My objective was to photograph the artworks, the atmosphere of the Gallery, but mostly the emotions of the people who stepped into the Gallery. Goal was to create images that make viewers feel as if they were standing in the gallery all by themselves.

WHAT WE DID

I worked with two different lenses. With my ultra-wide zoom lens I was able to capture the interior and exterior establishing shots of the exhibition, and the powerful altar of Madonnas. These shots show how the exhibition flows as a whole, almost like walking through someone’s dream. On the other hand with my telephoto zoom lens I shifted the focus to close up shots. My goal was to capture subtle emotions on visitors’ faces as they paused in front of a photograph. Goal was to photograph the fine textures of Oľga Bleyová’s images. But mostly to focus on those intimate moments where the audience connected personally with the story on the walls.

EFFECT

The photographs don’t just document this exhibition they tell the story of how art is experienced. The wide frames invite the viewer to step into the gallery, while the close-up shots make the emotions personal and relatable. They highlight how SAD PLEASURES is an artistic presentation.

PROJECT RESULTS

The project was about translating the way the artist, Oľga Bleyová approached her photography in here images. The exhibition called "Sad Pleasures". I captured the dialogue between her art and visitors, photographed their moments.
